My brother died when his helicopter was shot down. This to honor him. He was never recovered and Virgil and Paul Harris was cremated when it exploded and burned. The pilot, Major Samaras, died 6 days later from burns.

It’s a great pin. I’ve given a couple as gifts. In the picture you posted, it’s hard to read the “169” on the side of the chopper. It could be an “aircraft identifier”, but I’d bet it is in remembrance of the 169th Infantry Division. Look it up if you wish to see how proud I am to display the pin.

It's just as advertised. I have a few hours in the Huey SEA rescue but TDY. ON THE OTHER HAND, my girlfriend flew in Hueys for seven years doing Seismic oil Exploration....the stuff we are fracking. She worked her way up to powderboss, they called them "Juggies". Search it.

I ordered six of these to give out at my brother in laws funeral in Arlington National Cemetery on December 9th to his siblings, wife and daughter to wear. When the order arrived Saturday December 5th there was only five which disappointed me because now I do not have one for myself which I paid for. The pin is made of good metal, a little on the heavy side but that is because of the size. The price is to much of the pin, and I say that only because I have purchased other pin with more detail to them for less money. with that said I would say if you are collecting pins then the price you pay is up to the buyer.

This pin is in memory of a former classmate. He came into Army Recruiting three times to visit with me as I was working there at the time. When he left to go to Vietnam, he was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer. Shortly after his promotion, his helicopter crashed. Needless to say, it was quite a shock.
